In the case of Cornelius, God had changed Simon Peter's understanding that God does not show favoritism. and He had changed mine too.
Reflecting on 2017, what I have learned so far:
> The unbiased God's love for everyone, & Who am I to limit a person to come to Him?
> The many ugliness in me that the Saviour wants to refine
My Thanksgiving for the below events in 2017
1. Chairing for CNY lou sang
2. Chairing for working adult seminar on Financial theme
3. Slight changing of house living room layout
4. FRIM short learning trip
5. Teaching basic guitar lessons (using Eliza Eng's inherited guitar :p)
6. Serving in mandarin cell group as chairperson, sharing, song lead, games etc
> all these preparation includes how to impart, inspire, 带动气氛, be creative & fun, involves much research & learning, which grooms me
7. Central Northern Conference (CNC)
> fly high & last long! Theme: Next Level
8. cell group trip to the South!
Johor: Kukup Island, Country Garden Danga Bay, Forest City
> fellowship + chillax + informational learning
9. Journeying together with core team
> we sat down every few months to plan, to evaluate, to discuss, to pray, backing up one another. Each of us having our weaknesses & strength, but that made us a team, covering each other's lacking.
10. Journeying together in this working adult mandarin cell group as fellow companion
> members tasting God's goodness; experiencing anew &breakthrough
> Gymming, recreational road cycling
13. Working Adult leaders retreat
14. Working in shopping mall
15. Reunion at a wedding's banquet, Bukit Mertajam Penang
16. 'A Bag of Love' project blessing the community
> we planned, we trial &error, we sourced for recipients, we brainstormed as committee
> we made visitations, we learned to speak, we partnered with different observation groups
> we shopped for Foodbank, we learned to bless as cell group
17. my Shepherd!
> giving your best, your time, your energy, care, many offers &treating meals to your people, eventhough you are at limitations
> great working opportunity with you in different projects!
> settled my education loan
> health plan coverage
> exceed targeted financial goals
There are stories behind those events depicted above, those attempts, little efforts, courage taken, the disappointment of laboring without seeing fruits or without being appreciated.
Looking back, I receive the most rewarding experience at the end when I give &labor. Because I got to learn to be a better person, though not perfect, I tried & I improved and I thank God for all the ups &downs.
